About.

Debe moved to Los Angeles fresh out of college from the University of Texas in Austin with a BA in Theater, determined to find a career in Casting. While still in school at UT, she worked closely with a casting director from New York who was working on an extensive advertising campaign for a communications company. This casting director introduced Debe to the entire concept of Casting as a career choice, and Debe promptly fell in love with it and film/TV Production in general. Once in LA, she swiftly became involved in casting when producers she met realized her acting skills, work ethic, interest in people and her passion for creative film.

Experience

Developing a name for herself on the casting of many music videos, commercials and short-term projects, she gained much expertise and knowledge. As time went on and she worked on bigger projects, it was suggested that she cast the background actors for a film as well… well, she quickly realized that this role of Background Casting Director truly captured her interest and skills, and in this role she would be more of a department head to the Production and have close contact and communication with lots of eager people excited to be on these projects as well.

She is so grateful to have done the Background Casting on such projects as Key & Peele, Donnie Darko, The Artist, Magazine Dreams, and Everything Everywhere All At Once, to name some of her favorites. Debe is still most joyful when she has plenty of solid casting work yet can maintain some work/life balance, staying organized and detailed through it all. She is thrilled she gets to work with so many wonderful directors and producers, and is appreciative to be recognized for her work. She has seen this industry change and morph throughout the decades of her career, but has always adored it and enjoyed an identity that incorporates her incredible love and skill for it.
